VP/Director of Finance

Description An organization is seeking an experienced VP / Director of Finance to lead and oversee financial operations and provide strategic financial leadership. This role requires a forward‑thinking finance professional with strong technical accounting expertise, deep knowledge of financial controls, and the ability to drive process improvement, compliance, and high‑level financial insight to support overall organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities + Lead the development, documentation, and implementation of accounting policies in accordance with applicable accounting standards + Prepare and review technical accounting documentation, including white papers and audit support materials + Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial system reports to ensure accuracy and integrity + Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion within established deadlines + Conduct high-level financial reviews and partner with department leaders to provide strategic insights, analysis, and decision support + Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of senior-level accounting professionals + Oversee cost center reviews and approve adjustments to ensure financial accuracy and proper reporting + Support year-end close and audit activities, providing hands-on assistance as required + Provide guidance on complex financial transactions and the application of accounting standards + Leverage financial systems and advanced Excel functionality to improve reporting, efficiency, and controls + Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and provide education or guidance to stakeholders as needed If you are interested in this opportunity or other Direct Hire opportunities through Robert Half please call Carolyn Barnett at 513.810.3821 Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, with demonstrated leadership skills.
• Strong understanding of FASB accounting standards and their application in various industries.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and month-end close processes.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables and lookups.
• Experience working with Workday or similar financial systems.
• Ability to write and present technical accounting policies and documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
