Job Description

Responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting, and reporting activities. The finance director will lead all day-to-day finance operations of a budget of $8+ million including functional responsibility for accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, as well as significant engagement with grants administration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. Provide financial oversight and strategic support for City of Cleveland programs, including but not limited to the Tool Loan Program, Housing Counseling Services, and Furnace Replacement program. Maintain internal controls and processes regarding revenue and expenditures. Review all approved applications to ensure appropriate program placement and ensure audit readiness. Analyze financial data, cash flow, present financial reports, and monitor progress and changes. Participate in annual budgeting and planning process. Engage the board's audit and finance committees. Manage insurance coverage and other benefits administration as appropriate. Serve as a member of the management team on grant accounting and reporting Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications around financial management with staff at all levels throughout the organization.
REQUIREMENTS
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, sense of humor and unwavering commitment to Community Housing Solutions' (CHS) mission Proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who will own the responsibility for CHS. Bachelor's degree in related field (accounting, finance) CPA preferred but not required. 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting Strong background in non-profit management Experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll Experience in grants management as it relates to compliance and reporting of government, corporate and foundation grants Technology savvy, including advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting Excellent interpersonal skills, including attentiveness to cultural needs and differences. Excellent oral and written communication skills Knowledge of federal and state employment and benefits laws and government compliance
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
