Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Director to lead our accounting department. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in financial management and accounting principles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support organizational goals. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting and guiding the company towards fiscal responsibility. Duties Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards. Manage cash flow analysis to optimize liquidity and financial performance. Lead the general ledger accounting process, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately. Conduct financial audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with policies. Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting staff, fostering professional development within the team. Interpret financial reports to provide actionable insights for senior management. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee tax reporting processes. Manage LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) projects as necessary, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines. Support governmental accounting initiatives, ensuring adherence to public sector standards. Experience The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in various areas of accounting, including: Proven experience in cash flow analysis and financial report interpretation. Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting practices. Experience in financial auditing and corporate finance. Familiarity with governmental accounting standards is preferred. Previous mentoring or leadership experience within an accounting team. Candidates should have a degree in Accounting or Finance, along with relevant certifications such as CPA or CMA preferred. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting roles is required, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of both private sector and governmental accounting principles.
