Job Description

CONTROLLER ROLE WHY APPLY FOR THE CONTROLLER ROLE
Our client is a prominent non-profit with widespread community impact in the Columbus area looking to add a Controller to their team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTROLLER
The Controller will manage all aspects of the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants accounting processes. Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, providing actionable insights to leadership. Prepare financial reports and presentations. The Controller will develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Support the financial management of grants, including tracking, reporting, and compliance with funder requirements Supervise and mentor finance staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CONTROLLER
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA designation is strongly preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Strong experience in non-profit accounting, including familiarity with fund accounting and grant management. Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a commitment to mentoring and developing finance staff. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 DOE. This is an in-office position.
