$75,000-$110,000 based on experience, plus discretionary annual bonus About Us We are a privately held, family-owned company with a diverse and growing portfolio of businesses across agriculture, hospitality, real estate, and investments. Our group includes farming and grain operations, a hotel, restaurant and bar, coffee shop, catering, and event and wedding venues, along with commercial and residential real estate, construction, and various investment holdings. We're an entrepreneurial organization where no two days look the same and where your work has a real, visible impact. The Role We're looking for a hands-on Controller to lead our accounting function and a small bookkeeping and payroll team. This is a high-trust role reporting directly to ownership, ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and wants room to grow. Maintain accurate books across our group of related businesses, ensuring transactions are recorded correctly. Track intercompany activity, including loans, payments, and interest, and keep balances reconciled. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management across multiple accounts. Coordinate with our external CPAs and tax preparers on filings and supporting workpapers. Establish and maintain consistent accounting policies, internal controls, and good documentation habits. Support ownership with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial analysis for new projects and ventures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA a plus. Accounting experience, ideally including exposure to multiple entities or business types. Supervisory or team-lead experience a plus. Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and how different business structures are treated. Comfort with intercompany transactions and loan or interest tracking is a plus. Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks. Attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. High integrity and discretion handling confidential financial information. A self-starter who likes to improve processes and take initiative. Why Join Us You'll have genuine ownership of the accounting function and a direct line to leadership. This is a chance to bring your skills to a dynamic, growing family business where you'll be valued, trusted, and able to make a real difference.
