Financial Controller

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all accounting functions, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and provide strategic financial insights to support organizational growth. Your expertise will help drive sound financial management, streamline processes, and uphold the highest standards of accuracy and transparency across all financial activities. Duties Manage and oversee all accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management to ensure accurate and timely processing. Lead the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, adhering to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and other regulatory reporting obligations for both non-profit and governmental entities. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation to maintain precise financial records. Implement and monitor internal controls related to technical accounting issues such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and regulatory standards. Lead budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to optimize financial management workflows. Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure adherence to audit requirements. Develop and maintain effective financial management practices that enhance operational efficiency while safeguarding assets. Provide guidance on complex accounting issues including governmental accounting standards, nonprofit accounting practices, and technical accounting topics. Requirements Proven experience in a senior accounting or finance role with a focus on financial control or management. Strong knowledge of

IFRS, GAAP, SOX

compliance, and regulatory reporting standards. Extensive experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or equivalent platforms. Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, account reconciliation, balance sheet management, and cash flow analysis. Familiarity with nonprofit accounting principles as well as governmental accounting standards is highly desirable. Ability to interpret complex financial concepts and communicate findings clearly through detailed reports. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for accuracy in account analysis and reconciliation processes. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently under tight deadlines. Technical proficiency in payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, budgeting tools, and forecasting techniques.
