Plant Controller Palmer Group - 3.6 Norman, OK Job Details $130,000 a year 23 hours ago Benefits Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Accounting systems Cost accounting analysis ERP systems Manufacturing facility Bachelor's degree Accounting experience within manufacturing industry Full Job Description Our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for a growing manufacturing facility. This role will serve as a key partner to plant leadership while overseeing cost accounting, inventory/WIP accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong manufacturing accounting background, a hands-on leadership style, and the ability to help modernize systems and processes within a fast-paced operational environment.
Work Model:
On-Site What You Will Do:
Lead month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and variance analysis Manage cost accounting processes including standard costing, job costing, inventory valuation, and WIP accounting Partner with operations leadership to provide financial insight related to production performance, labor efficiency, margins, and operational KPIs Oversee inventory controls, cycle counts, physical inventory processes, and inventory reconciliation activities Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning efforts across the manufacturing operation Assist with ERP system implementation, process improvements, and internal control enhancements Supervise and mentor accounting staff while helping to establish scalable accounting processes and reporting structure What You Will Need to
Be Successful:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field At least 7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience with experience in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, WIP accounting, and manufacturing financial reporting Experience working within ERP systems; implementation or system conversion experience preferred
