Full Job Description Job Brief:
The Director of Finance for Hope is Alive (HIA) will oversee the day-to-day financial functions of the ministry.
Must Be:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field Certified Public Accountant preferred but not required Must be able to lead at a high level and make decisions with minimal supervision The ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at the same time Good interpersonal and communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Have non-profit accounting experience Have experience with
Quickbooks and Salesforce What You'll Do:
Assist the Director of Central Operations by helping oversee all Accounting processes and procedures. Compile financial reporting for leadership, auditors, and lenders Assist the Director of Central Operations in facilitating Hope is Alive's budget process Review and post entries to the general ledger monthly for payroll, liabilities, investments, asset additions and disposals, depreciation, miscellaneous adjustments & thrift store sales tax Develop and maintain reporting provided to the Director of Central Operations, Co-CEOs and Executive Board. Coordinate the annual outside audit of the Hope is Alive's financials Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and quarterly general ledger reconciliations. Ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting as well as proper internal controls Build and maintain reports on Hope is Alive's metrics for budgets, financials, etc. Oversee the monthly processes for Accounting to ensure that the books are closed in a timely manner Perform accounting research and answer other inquiries directed to the

Points For:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Work experience may be substituted for education requirement, substituting (2) years of work experience for every (1) year of course work. Minimum five (5) years of related experience required. Time management skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and activities Ability to identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiencies Strong verbal skills with the ability to speak in a way that is understandable to various constituents (CEO, front-line worker, Donor) Aptitude in problem-solving and decision-making

Travel Requirements:
Minimum core office hours are generally 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. This position will regularly require hours outside of the core office hours as operational requirements and the needs of the business dictate. Additionally, evening events, weekend engagements, and other activities will often require attendance and/or travel to represent HIA to the community and staff when necessary.
