POSITION SUMMARY
The Controller of Finance will oversee all accounting operations within the company, which includes maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and managing a team of finance professionals. This role requires a strong background in public accounting and experience in managing staff. The Controller will work closely with senior management to support financial decision-making and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity. Prepare detailed budget reports and forecasts, providing insights for strategic planning. Lead the audit process and coordinate with external auditors. Team Leadership Manage and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Set performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and provide professional development opportunities. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations. Monitor and manage financial risks, including cash flow, credit, and operational risks. Develop and maintain company accounting policies and procedures. Strategic Planning Partner with the CFO and senior management to develop financial strategies that support the company's growth and profitability goals. Provide financial insights and recommendations for business decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is required.
Experience Experience:
7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong background in public accounting. Proven experience in managing teams and leading financial operations in a mid-sized company. Skills In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
