Finance Coordinator Employment Type:
Non-Exempt Full-Time (typically 40 hours per week)
Position Summary:
The Finance Coordinator manages the church's day-to-day financial operations, supporting ministry through accurate recordkeeping and responsible stewardship. This role ensures financial data is current, reconciled, and reliable by maintaining records, processing payments and payroll, and overseeing the weekly close process, including contribution tracking. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, integrity, and proficiency with accounting systems while working collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Maintains accurate and up-to-date financial records in accounting software Records and categorizes all financial transactions, including contributions, expenses, and transfers Reconciles bank and related accounts on a regular basis Completes weekly financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting Prepares and distributes financial reports for church leadership Supports fiscal year transitions, including budget rollovers and verification of carryover balances Accounts Payable Oversees accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing Ensures timely and accurate payment to vendors, contractors, and service providers Processes payroll and maintains accurate payroll records Ensures compliance with applicable payroll laws and reporting requirements Maintains organized documentation for all disbursements Additional Responsibilities Supports budget tracking, reporting, and annual budgeting processes Assists with audits and external financial reviews as needed Maintains strict confidentiality in handling financial information Complete other tasks and duties as requested Regularly participates in the life of
Cedar Mill Bible Church Qualifications:
Affirms the church's Statement of Faith and lives in alignment with its Seven Distinctives Brings at least two years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field Demonstrates proficiency in payroll processing and accounting software (experience with Aplos or similar preferred) Exhibits strong attention to detail, organization, and time management Manages multiple priorities and deadlines effectively Exercises a high level of integrity and discretion
