Job Description

Job Overview St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Audubon, PA is seeking a part-time Assistant Treasurer (up to 50 hours per month depending on time of year) to manage the church's financial records with accuracy and integrity. This position is responsible for recording contributions, processing accounts payable, reconciling bank statements, preparing monthly payroll and preparing monthly financial reports. The ideal candidate will have prior bookkeeping or accounting experience, proficiency with Church Windows Software (or willingness to learn), and strong attention to detail. Experience in a nonprofit or church setting is preferred along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Confidentiality, integrity, and organizational skills are essential. Responsibilities Record and reconcile all financial transactions, including offerings, donations, and other income, in Church Windows. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Prepare and process monthly payroll in coordination with church leadership. Reconcile bank statements monthly and maintain accurate ledgers. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for the pastor and finance committee. Maintain donor contribution records and prepare annual giving statements. Assist in annual budget preparation and provide financial analysis as needed. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, payroll laws, policies, and church internal controls. Attend quarterly finance committee meetings, and workers compensation audits. Qualifications Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles is preferred. Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices and governmental accounting regulations is a plus.
