Because of our explosive growth, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Vice President (AVP) of Sales to lead and develop a high-performing sales organization within a designated geographic region. The ideal candidate is a proven sales leader with experience in medical device sales, strong coaching and mentoring abilities, and a passion for developing a winning sales team. Position Summary The Area Vice President (AVP) is responsible for providing strategic sales leadership, driving revenue growth, and developing sales talent within an assigned territory. This individual will work closely with executive leadership to execute sales strategies, achieve regional objectives, and ensure compliance with all company policies and FDA regulations. The AVP will lead, mentor, and support a team of sales professionals while maintaining strong relationships with customers, key opinion leaders, and internal stakeholders. Leadership Responsibilities Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing regional sales organization to achieve and exceed revenue objectives. Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain top sales talent while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and development planning to maximize individual and team success Identify high-potential talent and develop succession plans to support organizational growth and leadership continuity. Establish clear performance expectations and utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve sales effectiveness. Provide strategic direction and guidance to Regional Sales Managers, Area Sales Managers, Account Managers, and other sales personnel within the region. Partner with executive leadership to develop annual sales plans, forecasts, territory strategies, and growth initiatives. Drive sales force effectiveness through ongoing training, field coaching, and implementation of best practices. Collaborate with Human Resources on talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and organizational planning. Promote a culture of compliance, professionalism, integrity, and customer-centricity throughout the sales organization Lead regional sales meetings, business reviews, and strategic planning sessions to align team objectives with corporate goals. Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Clinical, Customer Success, Operations, Finance, and Quality teams to ensure successful execution of company initiatives. Provide executive leadership with accurate forecasting, pipeline visibility, market intelligence, and competitive insights. Manage regional budgets, travel and entertainment expenses, and resource allocation to maximize return on investment. Serve as a role model for Cartessa's values, leadership principles, and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities may include the following, and other duties may be assigned: Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute regional sales strategies that align with company objectives. Achieve and exceed regional sales goals and performance metrics. Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop sales professionals to maximize performance and career growth Provide ongoing training and development in prospecting, territory management, sales presentations, negotiation, closing techniques, and time management. Support sales representatives in complex sales opportunities and contract negotiations. Conduct regular field visits and ride-alongs to provide coaching and performance feedback. Ensure all sales activities are conducted within FDA-cleared indications for use and in compliance with company policies. Ensure customer complaints, product concerns, and adverse events are reported promptly to the appropriate internal departments. Collaborate with Marketing, Clinical, Customer Success, Operations, Finance, and Quality teams to support company initiatives and customer satisfaction. Monitor competitive activity and market trends and communicate findings to executive leadership. Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and CRM data. Represent Cartessa at industry meetings, conferences, workshops, and customer events. Maintain company-owned assets, demonstration equipment, and inventory in accordance with company policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualiication s Required Proven track record of success in medical device sales leadership Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams. Strong sales, negotiation, and closing skills. Experience developing and executing strategic sales plans. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities. Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Demonstrated understanding of FDA regulations and the importance of compliance within the medical device industry.

Ability to build credibility and influence across all levels of an organization.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments. Preferred Experience in the aesthetic medical device industry. Experience selling energy-based technologies. Experience leading geographically dispersed sales teams. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an active vehicle insurance policy. Requires frequent use of an automobile for customer visits, customer events, and field coaching.

Must be able to transport, move, lift, and position demonstration equipment and devices weighing 60+ pounds.
