Job Description:
I'm partnering with a CFO Advisory practice to hire a Controller who will work directly with a portfolio of mid?sized, privately held clients across industries. This is a direct hire role for someone who enjoys meaningful, hands?on work and the variety that comes with supporting multiple businesses. You'll help clients strengthen their financials, prepare for ownership transitions, maximize profitability, and clean up their books for valuations or potential acquisitions. Some days are strategic-helping an owner think through structure or future plans. Other days are deep in the details-recs, close work, cash flow cleanup. It's the kind of role where you genuinely make a difference. What You'll Take On Lead multi?entity consolidations and full monthly close for several clients Clean up income statements , balance sheets , and cash flow statements to support valuations and transaction readiness Prepare clients for acquisitions, family ownership changes, and profitability improvement initiatives Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis Build scalable processes, controls, and reporting frameworks Coordinate audit and review activities with external firms Shift between strategic advisory and hands?on accounting depending on client needs Work across industries with occasional travel to client sites What You Bring 6+ years of experience, including time as a Controller for a privately held company A blend of Big 4 (or national firm) experience and industry experience is ideal CPA strongly preferred Strong technical accounting skills and comfort working across different industries Ability to balance high?level strategy with detailed execution Someone who enjoys client interaction, variety, and making a real impact Why This Role Stands Out Compensation is extremely competitive.
