Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles, financial management, and reporting. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization. Duties Manage the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements. Oversee all aspects of accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting. Prepare and analyze financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to support organizational goals. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data. Manage cash flow and cash management activities to optimize liquidity. Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation. Implement and maintain accounting software systems such as DELMIAWorks and Manufacturing ERP (formerly IQMS) for efficient financial management. Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and regulatory reporting requirements. Lead the finance team in continuous improvement initiatives related to financial processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. Extensive experience in public accounting, non-profit accounting, or governmental accounting is advantageous. Strong knowledge of financial concepts including budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial analysis. Proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation practices. Familiarity with various accounting software applications; experience with QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is a plus. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all financial reporting activities. Exceptional communication skills for conveying financial information clearly to stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
