Job Description

The Village at Morrisons Cove, a Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Martinsburg, PA is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our organization's financial operations with precision and strategic insight. As a key member of our leadership team, you will oversee all accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and drive financial planning and analysis to support sustainable growth. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence financial strategies within a mission-driven, non-profit organization, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and efficiency in all financial activities. Primary Responsibilities Manage and oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. Ensure compliance with financial regulations Lead the preparation of accurate financial statements, reports, and regulatory filings while maintaining strict adherence to deadlines. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and month-end closing procedures to guarantee data integrity. Oversee cash management activities including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity. Implement and maintain robust internal controls for financial processes Utilize accounting software platforms to streamline financial operations and improve reporting accuracy. Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors to ensure smooth audit processes. Drive budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making. Lead technical accounting initiatives related to nonprofit accounting, governmental accounting standards, or other specialized areas as needed. Assist with the organizations Information Technology program Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. Extensive experience in corporate accounting specifically in the healthcare field Proven expertise in financial report writing, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management. Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements for nonprofit organizations or government entities is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with accounting software specifically Sage Strong knowledge of SOX compliance procedures and internal control frameworks. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate insights clearly through detailed reports. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently under tight deadlines. Deep understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles, debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis. Ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement in financial processes. Join us as a Financial Controller to shape our financial future!
