Job Description:

THE POSITION

The Financial Controller will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will be expected to work with and lead other finance staff within HUSK as well as work closely with our parent company, Volaris Group. They will play a key part in financial and management reporting as well as working to improve internal finance systems/processes. This role will be actively involved in helping chart the future growth of

HUSK. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management:

Oversee and manage the daily operations of the finance department, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, budgeting, and forecasting. Develop and implement financial policies, systems, and procedures to ensure efficient operations. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Lead the quarterly budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Monitor and analyze budget variances, recommending corrective actions when necessary.

Compliance and Audit:

Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and corporate financial regulations and reporting standards. Coordinate and lead external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor inquiries.

Risk Management:

Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure the financial stability of the organization.

Strategic Planning:

Provide financial insights and guidance to support strategic decision-making. Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute the company's financial strategy.

Team Leadership:

Supervise, mentor, and train the finance team to enhance their skills and efficiency. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence within the finance department.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE

: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably as a Financial Controller or similar. Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Experience in financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Willingness to learn and use AI to improve team productivity and process efficiency.
