Controller

Description We are looking for a Controller to lead the accounting and financial oversight for a small services organization located in the Greater Philadelphia Region. This Controller opportunity is ideal for a hands-on finance leader who can manage day-to-day accounting operations while delivering accurate reporting and meaningful insight to leadership. The role will play a key part in strengthening financial controls, supporting budgeting activities, and maintaining a clear view of company performance. What you get to do every single day:

• Direct the monthly close process, ensuring financial results are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and other key accounting deliverables for leadership.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to support timely processing and accurate recordkeeping.
• Manage payroll and coordinate core accounting functions across the general ledger and related financial workflows.
• Monitor cash flow and help guide financial planning through budgets, forecasts, and performance analysis.
• Establish and refine internal controls to improve accuracy, consistency, and compliance across accounting operations.
• Support the preparation and submission of tax filings at the local, state, and federal levels.
• Lead audit-related activities by organizing documentation, responding to requests, and coordinating with external partners. Requirements Other requirements for the Controller position include and are not limited to:
• Proven experience serving in a Controller role or in a senior-level accounting leadership position.
• Strong background in month-end close, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
• Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to build budgets, prepare financial projections, and explain variance trends to leadership.
• Familiarity with tax compliance requirements and audit support responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
