Full-time Summary:
The Controller is responsible for performing duties to support the accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting functions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in management and control of the accounting and financial reporting function of the Bank.
- Oversees accounting system.
- Performs financial analysis, feasibility analysis, etc.
- Prepares adjusting and correcting entries as needed.
- Performs daily balancing of Bank's general ledger.
- Reconciles assigned general ledger accounts within established timeframe, performs necessary research and resolution of outstanding items, drafts necessary general ledger adjustments, and submits completed reconciliations for review to supervisor.
- Reconciles assigned Bank accounts within established timeframe and submits such for review to supervisor. Reconciliation duties include research and resolution of outstanding items, drafts necessary general ledger and customer information file (CIF) system adjustments, and notification to appropriate Bank personnel of entries made/required.
- Maintains record of general ledger and CIF system account reconciliation completed monthly.
- Performs preliminary review to verify account balances reconciled and that appropriate supporting documentation and change authorizations.
- Assists in the development of the annual budget for the department and adheres to budget parameters.
- Prepares budget analysis reports for each department monthly.
- Monitors the purchasing of fixed assets against purchase controls and the annual budget for capital expenditures.
- Prepares and posts daily journal entries to general ledger and CIF system.
- Assists with the asset/liability management and investment portfolio management functions.
- Maintains Bank's securities investment portfolio by monitoring purchases, sales, and maturities.
- Determines interest earned or collected and prepares necessary general ledger adjustments.
- Monitors interest on advances from the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) and prepares necessary general ledger adjustments.
- Acts as administrator for collateral maintained with other financial institutions resulting from certain financial lending and business relationships.
- Implements strategies to achieve goals assigned to the financial department as established in the annual operating plan.
- Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient flow of information.
- Complies with established operating policies and procedures to maintain adequate controls and to support the Bank's adherence to outside regulatory requirements.
- Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g., Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), etc.
- Communicates with management and staff personnel to integrate goals and activities.
- Provides periodic reports to supervisor as required.
- Responds to inquiries or requests from other Bank personnel, customers, etc. relating to the financial department within given time frames and within established policy.
- Stays informed about the legal, compliance, and market-risk-related issues involved in the accounting area.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for increased efficiencies as appropriate.
- Research, compile, and prepares reports, manuals, correspondence, or other information required by management or regulatory agencies as requested.
- Complies with government, regulatory and Bank policies, and procedures.
- Attend industry related seminars or conferences.
Pay:
$75,000.00- $100,000.
