Manufacturing Controller Location:
On-Site in Windber, PA (re-location eligible) Must be authorized to work in the U.S. About the Role The Manufacturing Controller is responsible for managing all financial aspects of manufacturing operations, including cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This role ensures accurate reporting of production costs, supports operational efficiency, and provides strategic insights to improve profitability and cost control. Key Responsibilities Cost Accounting & Analysis Maintain and improve standard costing systems. Analyze variances between actual and standard costs. Lead standard costing, variance analysis, margin analysis, and cost improvement initiatives Monitor and report on manufacturing KPIs (e.g., yield, scrap, labor efficiency). Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process for manufacturing operations. Develop rolling forecasts and financial models to support decision-making. Provide analysis of variances and corrective actions. Asset Management Manage inventory, fixed asset management, and capital investment analysis. Optimize working capital with focus on receivables, payables, and inventory turns. Periodic updates of cashflow projections. Inventory & Production Accounting Ensure accurate valuation of inventory and compliance with accounting standards. Partner with operations to reconcile production data and resolve discrepancies. Financial Reporting Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to manufacturing operations including key metrics. Support internal and external audits with relevant documentation. Operational Excellence and Strategic Support Collaborate with Operations Manager and operations leaders to identify cost-saving and cost avoidance opportunities. Provide financial insights for capital investment decisions and process improvements. Assist in Return on Investment calculations. Assist with financial due diligence for potential investments or strategic partnerships. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Minimum 10+ years of experience in manufacturing finance or cost accounting. Strong understanding of ERP systems (e.g., IFS, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards). Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial modeling. Preferred Qualifications Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Ability to work cross-functionally, guide and influence non-financial stakeholders. Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and financial analysis tools. Familiarity with international manufacturing operations and cost structures.
