Job DescriptionJob DescriptionLHH is partnering with a leading industrial-focused organization seeking a Business Unit Controller to support a major operational business unit. This individual will act as a strategic finance partner while also owning core accounting, reporting, and cost accounting functions. This position sits at the intersection of finance and operations-ideal for someone who enjoys driving insights, improving processes, and influencing performance across a manufacturing environment. •This is a fully remote position but candidate needs to sit in Houston•Key Responsibilities Lead financial reporting for the business unit, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Deliver actionable insights to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making Own budgeting and forecasting processes, partnering closely with operations leaders Analyze key performance drivers, including cost accounting metrics, variances, and operational KPIs Develop forward-looking financial models and strategic plans Evaluate capital investments and support long-term growth initiatives Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies Strengthen internal controls and risk management processes Partner cross-functionally to identify operational efficiencies and cost improvement opportunities Lead and develop a team of accounting and finance professionals Support ongoing systems and process enhancements to improve reporting and scalability What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred) 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or business unit leadership roles Strong background in manufacturing or cost accounting environments Proven ability to partner with operations and influence decision-making Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms) Advanced Excel skills Strong business acumen with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset Why This Role Stands Out High-visibility role with direct exposure to executive leadership Opportunity to shape financial strategy and operational performance Clear path for career progression within a growing organization Collaborative, performance-driven culture with strong leadership support
Pay Details:
