Controller

Overview:

We are partnering with a growing manufacturing organization to bring on a Controller (contract) for a 3-month engagement. This is a hands-on leadership role supporting accounting and finance operations during a critical period. This position is ideal for a Controller or senior accounting leader with strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience who can step in quickly, assess processes, and make an immediate impact.

Key Highlights:

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership & Reporting Lead month-end close, financial reporting, and variance analysis Prepare and review financial statements and management reports Provide insights to support operational and strategic decision-making Accounting Operations Oversee general ledger, AP, AR, and payroll coordination Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial processes Manufacturing & Cost Accounting Oversee job costing, inventory accounting, and cost of goods sold Analyze manufacturing costs, margins, and operational efficiency Monitor inventory, WIP, and support cycle counts and reconciliations Planning & Analysis Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Partner with leadership on financial modeling and performance tracking Audit & Compliance Assist with audit preparation and external auditor coordination Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and reporting Support ERP and financial system optimization

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior experience at the Controller or senior accounting leadership level Strong background in manufacturing Experience with inventory, job costing, and financial analysis Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
