Job Description

Human Services, Inc . is a recovery driven community mental health center that has been serving the Chester County community for more than 50 years. HSI's Mission is to provide for the prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders. HSI remains committed to providing quality care that is most responsive to the needs of the individual in the most appropriate, less intrusive manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain the General Ledger to ensure that all entries are posted on a timely basis, including general journal entries as well as sub ledger entries for accounts payable, billing and accounts receivable, and payroll. Design and maintain a monthly closing schedule (including reconciliation of significant accounts such as A/R, A/P, Cash and revenue and expense accounts to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements for the Board of Directors. Responsible for cash management and assuring daily reconciliation is being completed as directed by the Finance Department. Prepare monthly financial statements for review by Executive Director and Department Directors before submitting to the Board. Such F/S should include month-to-month comparisons as well as actual to budget variance analysis. Manage and direct other Finance Department staff to maintain effective business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and to ensure the timely processing, depositing and daily reconciliation of medical service revenue and other revenue such as contributions. Provide audit schedules and other information as required by external auditors in connection with the annual financial audit, including relevant account reconciliations that should be performed on a monthly basis. Work with other Finance Department and health staff to ensure the accurate and timely preparation and analysis of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports including, but not limited to, program budgets and required progress reports. Prepare of the organization's comprehensive annual budget, including organizational-wide numbers as well as program budgets. Complete other duties as required by the President and CEO and
