Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead the financial operations of our manufacturing facility in Kenosha, WI. This role is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls, while partnering with operations leadership to drive efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing finance experience, a hands-on leadership style, and a strategic mindset to support business growth and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Reporting Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, AR/AP, payroll, and fixed assets Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP Lead month-end and year-end close processes Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance Manage standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis Partner with operations to monitor production costs, labor efficiency, and material usage Analyze margins, overhead absorption, and manufacturing KPIs Support pricing strategies and profitability analysis Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to leadership Support long-term financial planning and capital investment decisions Internal Controls & Compliance Establish and maintain effective internal controls and financial policies Ensure compliance with all regulatory and tax requirements Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Manage and develop accounting/finance team members Partner with plant leadership, operations, and executive teams Provide financial insights to support business decision-making Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5-10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role Strong experience in manufacturing and cost accounting Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills Deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenosha, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $62.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
