We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead and oversee all financial operations for a growing organization. This position is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, compliance, internal controls, and strategic financial planning. The Controller will provide meaningful financial insights to leadership, support key business decisions, and ensure the company's short- and long-term financial health. The ideal candidate is a strong financial leader with extensive accounting and finance experience, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven ability to develop teams, improve processes, and support organizational growth. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting activities Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and financial reports for leadership review Perform detailed financial, statistical, and variance analyses with supporting narratives Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process across the organization Develop and maintain rolling 12-month financial forecasts Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts and identify opportunities for improvement Support strategic planning initiatives through financial modeling and forecasting Cash Management & Compliance Manage company cash flow, banking relationships, and line-of-credit reporting Coordinate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to optimize cash flow and collections Advise leadership on reserves, capital expenditures, and financial risk management Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and audit requirements Coordinate external audits, government audits, banking audits, and related documentation Leadership & Team Development Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff Interview, hire, train, coach, and develop accounting team members Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing employee development Assign workloads, monitor productivity, and support team success Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Systems & Process Improvement Oversee financial systems, reporting tools, and internal controls Partner with IT and business leaders to support system improvements and implementations Ensure data integrity, process efficiency, and documentation compliance Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancements Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum of 7 years of progressive financial management experience, including private sector experience Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Experience with inventory costing and financial reporting systems Strong cash management and banking experience Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion Preferred:
MBA, CPA, and/or CMA designation Experience with employee training and development Experience with Avalara sales tax software Manufacturing and distribution industry experience Working Conditions:
Primarily office-based environment with occasional exposure to warehouse and manufacturing operations Hybrid schedule with up to 20% remote work eligibility Frequent computer use, meetings, and collaboration with internal departments Occasional exposure to manufacturing equipment, forklifts, welding, CNC operations, and production environments Physical Requirements:
Frequent sitting and computer work throughout the day Frequent hand and wrist movement for typing and data entry Occasional standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 15 lbs Ability to maintain focus while reviewing financial reports and data About Us:
