Controller Ledgent Finance & Accounting - 4.0 Halethorpe, MD Job Details $140,000 - $150,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Internal controls Microsoft Excel Bachelor's degree Managing accounting teams Financial compliance Excel data analysis Full Job Description Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations. This role will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to support strategic initiatives, improve financial processes, and ensure accurate reporting. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in project-based or job costing environments and thrives in a hands-on, operationally focused setting. Key Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of accounting operations , including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Manage job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and revenue recognition Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls Monitor cash flow, banking relationships, and financial performance Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams Support audits and coordinate with external partners Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience Experience in project-based accounting, job costing, or similar environments Strong understanding of financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls Proven leadership and team management experience Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Compensation & Benefits Target salary: $140,000 - $150,000 (flexible for exceptional candidates) 10% performance-based bonus Comprehensive benefits package Work Environment Primarily in-office role based in Halethorpe, MD Potential for 4 days onsite / 1 day remote schedule Additional flexibility available as needed Collaborative environment supporting multiple business functions All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
