This is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, experience with corporate and partnership taxation, and the ability to guide the company through evolving tax regulations. This is an exciting opportunity to transition financial and accounting operations in-house, with the autonomy to build new systems, safeguards, and ensure data transparency.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end close Prepare and present accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts to leadership Manage corporate and partnership tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements Monitor and advise on recent tax law changes and their impact on the business Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets Manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial planning Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners as needed Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement Support strategic decision-making with financial insights and recommendations
What We're Looking For:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a controller or senior accounting management role Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Experience with corporate and partnership tax preparation and compliance Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems Advanced Excel skills
Preferred:
CPA certification (active or inactive) Experience in staffing, professional services, or life sciences industries Familiarity with multi-state tax requirements (including recent changes like Washington State staffing services tax) Experience working with factoring/payroll funding partners MBA or Master's in Accounting Why BioPoint?
