Job Description
Controller Mostly Remote - must be a Colorado resident
Salary:
$120,000 - $150,000 Overview We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Controller to join a growing organization. This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong publicly traded company experience who enjoys owning the close, strengthening controls, and helping scale accounting operations. The Controller will play a critical role as the company continues to raise capital, enhance reporting rigor, and mature its financial infrastructure. Core Responsibilities of the Controller Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Oversee core accounting functions with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance Lead and support the transition and ongoing optimization of NetSuite, including process improvements and system adoption Support PCAOB‑related audits and coordinate with external auditors in a publicly traded company environment Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and reporting standards Support M&A integration activities, including onboarding acquired entities and integrating financials into NetSuite The Controller will collaborate with finance leadership on special projects related to growth, scalability, and operational improvements Core Competencies & Skills Proven experience in a publicly traded company environment Strong, hands‑on expertise with NetSuite, including system optimization and ongoing use Prior experience in the mining industry or other asset‑intensive industries strongly preferred Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manage complex reconciliations, reporting, and analysis Demonstrated experience supporting audits and operating within regulated, compliance‑driven environments Exposure to M&A integration and multi‑entity accounting structures is a plus NASDAQ reporting or IPO experience is a plus Ability to take full ownership of the monthly close, audit coordination, and accounting system improvements Motivated by a growth‑oriented environment offering competitive compensation, flexibility, and long‑term upside Work Environment & Hours Monday-Friday, standard business hours with flexibility Open to in‑office, hybrid, or remote work depending on preference Culture & Opportunity This Controller role is best suited for someone who enjoys being deeply involved in the details while helping build a strong finance foundation.
