Reporting to the CFO, the Controller is a strategic and operational leader that oversees the company's accounting function during a period of continued growth. This position requires a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional who can manage day-to-day accounting operations, provide audited financial statements, and contribute to strategic planning. They serve as a key partner to the CFO, the FP&A team, and senior leadership across the organization.
What You Will Do:
Accounting Operations & Financial Statements Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across all legal entities. Drive initiatives to compress and sustain an efficient monthly close cycle. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of GAAP financial statements for the annual audit cycle. Oversee cost allocations supporting four-wall P&L management at the individual clinic level. Oversee the preparation and accuracy of account reconciliations. Analyze operating results and financial performance trends to provide actionable business insights. Oversee lease accounting, and fixed asset management, multi-entity consolidations, and the preparation of technical accounting memos. Collaborate with the Finance team on the maintenance of Revenue Recognition processes. Support the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes. Support treasury functions in partnership with the CFO and FP&A team. Own the accounts payable function and promote best practices in expense management. Manage cash operations at the clinic level, including clinic cash tracking and patient refund processing. Compliance, Controls & Audits Ensure compliance with GAAP across all accounting functions and maintain strong internal controls. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and the confidentiality of CRH data. Oversee external audit preparation and serve as the primary liaison with auditors. Ensure proper documentation and testing of financial processes and controls. Coordinate with the company's third-party tax team on tax provisions, filings, and compliance matters. Develop, implement, and enforce accounting policies and procedures ensuring compliance with company standards. Acquisition Accounting & Integration Partner with the Corporate Development team, CFO, and Finance team on deal-related accounting and reporting. Lead acquisition accounting processes including purchase price allocation and opening balance sheet preparation. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, IT, HR, and leadership to execute financial integration of newly acquired entities on the CRH platform, including systems alignment, reporting standardization, and controls. Systems & Process Improvement Leverage NetSuite, AvidXchange, LeaseQuery, Experity, and Excel to drive efficiency and data integrity. Embrace and promote modern, technology-enabled approaches to accounting - including AI-assisted workflows. Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows, close procedures, and reporting processes. Develop scalable financial processes and optimize financial systems to support company growth. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within accounting processes, systems, and reporting capabilities. Team Leadership & Development Provide leadership, mentorship, and development for the accounting team. Foster a collaborative, high-performance team that embraces continuous improvement and accountability. Promote strong communication and alignment between finance and operational departments. Identify skill gaps within the team, build process documentation and training to raise overall capability.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required; MAcc or MBA preferred 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated leadership of an accounting team Multi-site experience strongly preferred, ideally across a large portfolio of locations Healthcare industry background considered a plus Experience with private equity-backed organizations Acquisition accounting experience - purchase price allocation, balance sheets, and post-close integration Proficiency in NetSuite or a comparable enterprise ERP Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency required Proven ability to lead teams and drive organizational change within a fast-paced and evolving environment Creative and resourceful problem solver - investigative and analytical skills are required
