About the Role We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead and oversee all accounting and financial operations for our organization. This role is responsible for driving financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance while supporting the company's growth and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, hands-on leadership, and experience managing financial systems, payroll, and process improvements in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Leadership Lead all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting Prepare and manage annual budgets and monthly forecasts, including variance analysis and reporting Ensure all financial activities are in compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements Systems & Process Improvement Direct the development, implementation, and optimization of financial systems, including Restaurant365 and Paycom (HRIS/Payroll) Identify and implement process improvements, system upgrades, and best practices to enhance efficiency and scalability Establish and monitor KPIs and performance metrics to evaluate financial and operational effectiveness Support strategic initiatives, including company growth and system enhancements Accounts Payable, Receivable & Cash Management Oversee AP/AR functions to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections Manage cash flow and cash requirements, including review of open payables and liabilities Establish department goals, deadlines, and process standards Payroll Oversight Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing Interpret and apply company policies and regulatory requirements related to payroll Oversee tax filings and third-party reporting to federal, state, and local agencies Compliance & Internal Controls Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets Monitor systems and processes for compliance with corporate policies and financial regulations Review and approve vendor contracts Audit & External Relations Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors Support audits and ensure accurate documentation and reporting Additional Responsibilities Oversee insurance policy reviews, claims management, and rate negotiations Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and organizational information Lead or support special projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Experience with financial systems (Restaurant365, Paycom, or similar) Proven experience managing payroll, AP/AR, and financial operations Experience supporting franchised business models or multi-entity environments is a plus Skills & Competencies Strong project management and organizational skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to communicate complex financial information to diverse audiences High level of attention to detail and accuracy Strategic thinker with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency Why Join Us Opportunity to play a key role in driving financial strategy and growth Collaborative and fast-paced work environment Ability to make a meaningful impact across the organization
