About You You are a technically strong, hands-on accounting leader who thrives in complexity. You understand structured finance, multi-entity consolidations, and the rigor required in lending environments. You don't "monitor" the numbers—you own them. You take pride in clean closes, reconciled balances, and financials leadership can rely on without hesitation. You bring discipline, accountability, and a process-driven mindset, while also being collaborative and solutions-oriented. About the Job This is a senior leadership role within the accounting organization. The Controller owns the integrity of the financials across all entities and ensures disciplined execution of the close process, consolidations, securitization accounting, and reporting. Current mortgage lending, specialty finance, fintech lending, or structured finance experience required. Financial Close & Reporting Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close across all entities Deliver accurate, timely GAAP financial statements Lead balance sheet reviews and ensure all accounts are reconciled Maintain structured close calendar and eliminate surprises Provide executive-ready financial reporting Multi-Entity & Consolidation Accounting Manage accounting for parent, subsidiaries, SPEs, and securitization vehicles Oversee intercompany transactions and eliminations Prepare consolidated financial statements Maintain clean intercompany reconciliations Systems & Process Ownership Own general ledger structure and chart of accounts Improve systems to support loan-level and entity-level reporting Reduce manual processes and shorten close timelines Maintain strong documentation and audit trails Leadership & Culture Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff Establish accounting policies, SOPs, and internal controls Foster accountability and early issue identification Build a culture of ownership and operational excellence Audit, Tax & Compliance Support tax provision and compliance processes Maintain year-round audit readiness Coordinate with external auditors and advisors Skills & Qualifications Current mortgage lending, specialty finance, fintech lending, or structured finance experience required CPA strongly preferred 7-10+ years progressive accounting experience 3-5+ years in a Controller role Strong experience with consolidations and eliminations Deep GAAP knowledge Proven ability to own and deliver a disciplined monthly close Performance Expectations Rain City Capital operates in a Hybrid work model grounded in accountability and trust.
