Benefits:
Medical, Dental, Vision, unlimited PTO and more!
Work Arrangement:
Hybrid (Tues/Wednes in-office) A growing, acquisition-minded company in the tradeshow, event production, and services industry is seeking a Corporate Controller to join its finance leadership team. This is a high-impact opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys building processes, improving controls, partnering with operations, and working in a dynamic, project-based business environment. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Corporate Controller will play a key role in financial reporting, month-end close, accounting operations, financial analysis, and process improvement. This person will be both a strategic partner and a working manager—someone who can lead, review, analyze, and also roll up their sleeves when needed. Key Responsibilities The Corporate Controller will be responsible for leading and supporting core accounting and finance activities, including: Own the accuracy and timeliness of month-end close and financial statement preparation. Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, account coding, and supporting schedules. Prepare and post complex journal entries as needed. Perform P&L review, financial analysis, and budget-to-actual variance analysis. Partner with operations leaders to understand project activity, show-related costs, and business drivers. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, and cost accounting. Support consolidated financial statement preparation and management reporting. Assist with annual audits, tax return processes, and compliance with accounting standards. Help strengthen accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting processes. Identify financial trends and provide insights that support operational improvement. Work cross-functionally across multiple business units and serve as a trusted finance partner. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a smart, gritty, proactive accounting professional who thrives in a fast-moving environment. This person should be comfortable with change, acquisitions, integrations, manual processes, and situations where procedures are still being built or improved. This is a great fit for someone who does not want a narrow, static accounting role. The company offers broad exposure, direct access to senior leadership, and room for growth for someone who takes initiative, asks good questions, and looks for ways to add value. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Strong accounting background, ideally with 10+ years of progressive experience. Project-based accounting, job costing, or project financial management experience required. Experience working in an enterprise ERP environment required. Strong financial analysis and P&L review skills. Ability to work effectively with internal customers across accounting, finance, operations, and multiple business units. Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style. Ability to improve or create processes, not simply follow existing procedures. Comfortable operating in a growing, changing, and acquisition-oriented business. Prior management experience preferred, but high-potential candidates with leadership capability will be considered. CPA preferred, but not required. Preferred Backgrounds Candidates with experience in service-based, project-based, professional services, construction services, event services, or other job-costing environments may be especially well aligned. Experience in larger, more complex companies or enterprise ERP systems is also helpful. Systems Experience The company uses a large enterprise ERP platform. Direct experience with Microsoft D365 / Finance & Operations is helpful, but not required. Candidates with strong ERP experience and the ability to adapt quickly will be considered. Why This Opportunity This role offers the chance to join a growing company where finance has a visible seat at the table. The Corporate Controller will have meaningful influence over accounting operations, process improvement, controls, and cross-functional business partnership.
Key highlights include:
High-impact controller role reporting directly to the CFO. Opportunity to lead and improve accounting operations. Exposure to multiple business units. Growing, acquisitive company with career development potential. Hybrid flexibility. Unlimited PTO. Competitive compensation and annual bonus opportunity.
