Job Description

Controller Full-Time | Exempt | Hybrid Work Option Available Position Summary The Controller is a hands-on leader responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This role is actively involved in completing monthly financial reporting, while also serving as a key resource for internal teams—providing guidance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting sound financial decision-making. Key Responsibilities Perform hands-on accounting work, including preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules Lead and execute the month-end and year-end close processes Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities Serve as the primary day-to-day resource for accounting and finance-related problem solving for internal staff Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies Support budgeting and forecasting activities Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial reporting Assist with audits and serve as a liaison with external auditors as needed Identify process improvements and implement efficiencies within the accounting function Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred Proven experience in a Controller or senior-level accounting role Hands-on experience preparing monthly financial statements Government contracting experience required Strong working knowledge of: QuickBooks Online and Deltek cost accounting system (preferred but not required) Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements Key Skills & Competencies Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution Strong problem-solving skills and ability to support cross-functional teams Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadline Work Environment Hybrid work environment available Collaborative, team-oriented culture Why Join Us Opportunity to play a critical, visible role within the organization Hands-on, impactful position with cross-functional exposure Competitive compensation and benefits
