Job Description
Vice President - Deputy Chief Accounting Officer (Hybrid) Illinois Health and Hospital Association United States, Illinois, Naperville 1151 East Warrenville Road (Show on map) Apr 29, 2026 Main Function As part of the Corporate Finance management team, responsible for the financial reporting and fiscal management of the Illinois Health & Hospital Association and its subsidiaries, including its affiliated entities, ICT, IPT and IHAPAC. Outline of Responsibilities Act as advisor to the Chief Financial Officer and interface with other senior management team members.
Part of the management team responsible for Corporate Finance activities including monthly close and consolidation processes as well as ensuring that accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, grant compliance and financial reporting functions are performed in an efficient and accurate manner.
Act as strategic financial and regulatory advisor to IHA's licensed medical malpractice company and its affiliated entities, which include hospital professional liability and workers' compensation trusts. Partner with actuarial and insurance solutions teams to monitor claims activity, determine capital needs, funding mechanisms, and reinsurance programs.
Assure compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, and foreign regulations, laws, and reporting requirements including those of the Illinois Department of Insurance (IDOI), Internal Revenue Service, Illinois Department of Revenue, state and federal lobbying agencies, grant funding agencies, and the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. Review applicable income tax and regulatory filings.
Ensure the integrity of financial information and its conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or Statutory Accounting Practices (SAP) as applicable.
Oversee the preparation of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
Analyze and make recommendations on membership dues variance requests. Communicate with members regarding past due invoices and payment plans.
Develop, enhance and monitor treasury management and banking functions including interface with financial institution representatives.
Oversee investment portfolio management including reporting on investment manager performance and investment strategies. Interface with outside investment advisor, custodial managers and fund managers.
Prepare or review materials for governing board meetings for IHA, its subsidiaries and affiliated entities. Attend and participate in presentations of such materials at meetings. Serve as liaison to the treasurers of the governing boards.
Oversee annual audit examination performed by independent outside audit firm as well as examinations and audits performed by the IDOI and other governmental agencies.
Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Twelve years of related experience including working knowledge of insurance accounting, payroll processing and grant compliance. Bachelor's degree required. CPA required. Master's degree preferred. Knowledge of GAAP and SAP is required. Must possess exceptional analytical and communication skills. Pay Range:
$217,000 to $271,000 annually, actual compensation is dependent on job-related factors such as experience, education, skills and qualifications for the role.
