We are currently seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Finance to join our Executive Team. This position is remote, with a preference for candidates located in OR, WA, or ID. The salary range for this role is $197,000 - $235,000, depending on experience and qualifications. About the
Role:
The Vice President of Finance plays a critical leadership role in guiding OCCU's financial health and long-term strategy. This position leads core finance functions, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, while providing insight and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. You will lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of financial processes and systems while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Acting as a key advisor to executive leadership, this role helps drive organizational performance, profitability, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute OCCU's financial strategy, aligning with organizational goals and long-term objectives. Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, receivables, payables, and financial reporting. Ensure timely and accurate forecasts, financial modeling, and analysis of financial trends. Manage budget development, rolling forecasts, and performance tracking against organizational goals. Interpret financial, economic, and statistical data to inform strategic decisions. Ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory reporting requirements. Oversee reporting to regulatory agencies and ensure timely and accurate submissions. Address audit findings and ensure appropriate resolution of financial exceptions. Lead, coach, and develop finance team members, fostering a highly engaged and high-performing team. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support collaboration and execution.
What We're Looking For:
Minimum of seven years of directly related finance and accounting experience. Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. (GAAP) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment. Strong decision-making skills and attention to detail help ensure efficient, accurate task completion in planning, workflow, and project prioritization. Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills. Bachelor's degree in finance and/or a strong record of achieving business results required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in financial services, banking, or credit union environment Advanced degree (MBA or related field) Professional certifications such as
