Controller Reports to:
Senior Vice President Job Summary:
The Controller is responsible for managing daily accounting operations ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This position is responsible for managing the accounting team, overseeing financial statement preparation, budgeting, and forecasting processes, and supporting strategic decision-making through financial analysis. Oversight and management of the company's inventory position will also be a key element of this position and is unique to the secondary industry.
Duties and Responsibilities :
1. Oversee all general ledger, cash, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and fixed asset accounting. 2. Oversee products position management including daily transactions and hedging. 3. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close. 4. Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with applicable standards. 5. Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. 6. Provide insight and assist with the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads. 7. Manage and coordinate financial audit and compliance requirements. 8. Manage and coordinate 401(k) reporting and transactions. 9. Supervise and mentor accounting staff. 10. Other tasks related to office activity that may be needed or may develop with time.
Requirements :
1.) 5+ years of accounting experience 2.) 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience 3. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field 4. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership. 5. Strong organizational abilities. 6. Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written 7. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. 8. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook). 9. Commitment to learning new systems and flexibility in a changing environment. Experience using an ERP system a plus. 10. Follow and develop procedures related to duties and responsibilities. 11. Have access to reliable transportation to and from work. 12. Maintain professional and appropriate conduct. 13. Good working knowledge of and adherence to all relevant policies, company mission and standards. 14. Perform duties in a timely manner.
Physical Requirements :
1. Must be 18 years or older. 2. Able to visually examine reports both on paper and on computer screens. Work Environment 1. Employment is conducted in an office environment. 2. Must maintain workspace in good working order. 3. Must maintain a professional appearance both personally and within workspace.
Pay:
$125,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
