Plant Controller Mueller's manufacturing commitment ensures one of the world's most precious resources, clean drinking water, reaches millions of people daily. As a Plant Controller , you will provide analytical and strategic support to the Plant Manager, Operations team and Management Team of the Specialty Valve operations. The primary duties of this position will be overseeing all the accounting for the manufacturing plant and managing the company's specific KPI's, which includes completing analytical views that help management take actions that support the business objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide analytical support to management teams, including management of KPI's and performing cost analysis. Facilitate and own monthly financial close process and preparation of financial statements and reports for one large and two small manufacturing locations. Coordinate and prepare monthly forecasting with local management team. Own, prepare, and present annual budget and strategic plans in coordination with Plant Management. Manage standard cost and manufacturing account system as well as all plant accounting. Manage capital spending & cost savings projects and advise local management of proper processes relating to these projects. Manage physical inventory process for one large and two small manufacturing locations. Establish, implement, and monitor all internal controls and facilitate all external and internal audits. Continuously evaluate plant and finance processes to ensure compliance with GAAP and identify improvement opportunities. Oversee direct supervision of finance and accounting team members, to include performance evaluations, work assignment distribution, and management of time-off schedule to ensure optimal team productivity and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of GAAP accounting, automated accounting systems and SOX Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all levels of employees, management, and outside professionals. Outstanding communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to perform, manage and/or direct multiple tasks and determine priorities. Knowledge of working with and advising on complex accounting situations relating to manufacturing operations. Ability to influence peers at staff level to understand & achieve alignment and common goal(s) Excellent computer/systems/PC skills, especially in
Microsoft Office Suite Required Education/Experience:
B.S. degree in accounting 7-10 years of experience in all aspects of manufacturing accounting Up to 10% travel required
Preferred:
Master's Degree or CPA preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, Power Query/Queries & Connections a plus ERP System experience, JDE E1 a plus Oracle EPM experience a plus
Lean/Six Sigma Experience Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in stationary position or standing position for prolonged periods and alternate between Ability to repeat gross or fine manipulation that may include the use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, safety glasses, steel-toed or metatarsal-guarded shoes, and/or ear plugs, while working in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment. Ability to constantly communicate with others to exchange information in person, via phone, or via use of computer.
