VP of Development - Data Centers (Dallas, TX) We're partnered with a global data center developer backed by institutional capital, delivering large-scale hyperscale and AI-ready campuses across key U.S. markets. They are hiring a VP of Development to lead front-end development - focused on site identification, land acquisition, and early-stage project execution. This is not a delivery role. It's about finding, securing, and de-risking sites before handing over to preconstruction and construction teams.
The role:
  • Lead site selection and land acquisition across multiple U.S. markets
  • Drive due diligence, zoning, entitlements, and permitting
  • Own power strategy - utilities, substations, interconnection, and early engagement
  • Assess full site viability (land, power, fiber, access, environmental constraints)
  • Work closely with landowners, brokers, utilities, and local authorities
  • Progress sites through early development before handover to delivery teams What we're looking for:
  • Proven experience in site selection and land acquisition for large-scale projects
  • Strong background in entitlements, permitting, and early-stage development
  • Direct experience working with utilities and power infrastructure
  • Experience within data centers / digital infrastructure is strongly preferred
  • Also open to candidates from:
  • Power / energy developers
  • Infrastructure platforms
  • Crypto / HPC / AI data center developers Why this role:
  • Backed by significant capital with an aggressive U.S. growth pipeline
  • Ability to shape multi-GW data center campuses from day one
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and investment decision-making
  • High-impact role in one of the fastest-growing infrastructure sectors
