Job Summary:
The Assistant Controller will contribute to keep the accounting and financial processes of the company up to standard and ensure accurate financial reporting and control, while supervising the function of the Accounting Specialists.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee accounting and banking records, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, posting, and recording accounting data Verify discrepancies and resolve account issues Manage most accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition Supervise and direct daily activities of A/P, A/R, analysis, and cost accounting activities Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting Liaison with accounting software and other system vendors and consultants Research technical accounting issues for compliance Ensure month-end is closed accurately by Company established deadlines and standards Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Ensure that sales tax, fuel tax, and property tax payments are completed timely and accurately Prepare books for tax returns and other tax related processes and assist in completion of tax returns Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Complete and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to the executive leadership team Assist with forecasting and planning processes as needed Additional duties as necessary

Proven working experience as an assistant controller or similar position 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience 3+ years' experience in a supervisory/management role Bachelor's Degree in Accounting-related field Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures Experience with creating financial statements Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process Excellent accounting software user and administration skills Experience with QuickBooks Online software preferred Healthcare industry experience a plus

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop/laptop computers and smartphones. This is a full-time office position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
