Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller/Finance Professional to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our accounting practices. This pivotal role involves overseeing financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, managing cash flow, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in various accounting disciplines with a strong foundation in financial analysis and management. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a family-owned organization committed to transparency, accuracy, and fiscal responsibility. (FULL or PART-Time hours available) Duties Ideal candidates should possess an excellent work ethic, positive attitude and strong leadership skills.
Primary responsibilities include:
Ensure the accuracy and consistency of all accounting related functions Coordinate month-end and year-end reporting, preparing accruals and schedules and submitting monthly reporting packages as directed by management Serve as key point of contact with external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits Establish and implement policies, procedures and controls for the accounting and finance departments, while monitoring employee compliance to insure adherence Access and evaluate the financial performance of the organization as compared to operational goals, budget, and forecasts. Provide insight into the short-term and long-term growth plans of organization Create yearly financial objectives that align with the plan for growth and expansion Prepare and present monthly financial budget reports Manage cash flow planning and reporting process Analyze monthly financials and provide recommendations Develop and maintain monthly and annual operating budgets Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 8+ years of experience in a similar accounting role with supervisory responsibilities Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly understand P & L reports and isolate issues Time management, prioritizing, analysis, and strong judgment/decision-making skills Previous retail/inventory experience preferred Experience working with a private company or family-owned business is highly preferred
