Controller Job Description This Controller role oversees all accounting and financial reporting activities for a Houston-based manufacturing operation in the oil and gas sector. The position ensures accurate financial reporting, manages the month-end close, supports forecasting and budgeting, and oversees invoicing and accounts receivable processes. The Controller partners closely with operations and leadership to provide financial insight that supports both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic goals. Responsibilities Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing. Manage the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Support and maintain forecasting and budgeting processes, collaborating with leadership to analyze variances and performance trends. Oversee weekly invoicing activities, processing approximately 20-30 invoices per week. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulatory requirements. Partner with operations and leadership to provide financial insights that support business decisions. Assist with audit preparation and serve as a point of contact for external auditors as needed. Perform checks and balances to ensure accuracy and integrity across all financial records and processes. Conduct reporting and financial analysis, including cost accounting and performance analysis. Perform various analyses from the manufacturing floor to overhead forecasting to support operational efficiency and profitability. Continuously improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies. Support and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions. Essential Skills Minimum 3 years of accounting experience. Minimum 3 years of forecasting experience. Minimum 3 years of experience handling month-end close and financial reporting. Hands-on experience with invoicing and accounts receivable processes, including processing approximately 20-30 invoices per week. Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the oil and gas industry. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proficiency with accounting systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Experience with cost accounting and related financial analysis. Experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed reporting analysis and variance analysis. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a smaller company environment with close collaboration across departments. Experience supporting budgeting processes and overhead forecasting. Ability to partner effectively with operations and leadership to translate financial data into actionable insights. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Ability to identify and implement process improvements in accounting and reporting workflows. Comfort working on-site in a manufacturing-focused office setting. Work Environment The role is based in Houston, TX, within a smaller manufacturing company of approximately 80 employees where all team members work on-site. This is a fully in-office position with flexible hours, typically 7:00 a.m

• 4:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m
• 5:00 p.m., or 9:00 a.m
• 6:00 p.m., and requires five days per week in the office. The environment supports close collaboration with operations and leadership and offers direct visibility into manufacturing activities, financial performance, and forecasting needs.
