ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Snelling is seeking a Controller / Accounting Manager for a well-established, privately owned organization headquartered in Lubbock, Texas. This leadership role oversees the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of a growing dealership environment while ensuring strong financial controls, regulatory compliance, and accurate reporting. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on leadership role within a dynamic business environment. The Controller will work closely with ownership and operational leadership to monitor financial performance, support strategic planning, and ensure the integrity of financial systems and processes. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple financial functions including reporting, compliance, and portfolio oversight. ________________________________________

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Financial Management & Accounting Operations

• O versee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Monitor financial performance and provide insights to support leadership decision-making
• Manage dealership cash flow, financial reserves, and floor plan activity when applicable
• Oversee payroll administration and employee benefit accounting
• Assist ownership with budgeting, financial forecasting, and strategic financial planning Portfolio & Receivables Oversight
• M onitor customer receivables, lending portfolios, and payment activity
• Ensure accurate posting and reconciliation of payments, fees, interest, and late charges
• Track and report on delinquencies, repossessions, and write-offs
• Support operational teams with accurate financial reporting and portfolio tracking Systems & Reporting
• M aintain data accuracy and integrity across accounting, sales, and collections systems
• Generate financial, operational, and compliance reports through dealership management systems
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and financial visibility Compliance & Internal Controls
• E nsure compliance with federal, state, and local financial and consumer lending regulations
• Maintain accurate financial documentation and audit trails
• Develop and enforce internal financial controls to safeguard company assets
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax professionals ________________________________________

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• B achelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3-5+ years of accounting experience in a leadership or senior-level role
• CPA certification preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting operations
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with dealership or lending management systems (IDMS or similar) preferred
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to interpret financial data
• High level of organization, accuracy, and professional integrity
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to leadership teams ________________________________________
