Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP. As the Controller, you will be responsible for managing the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and implementing effective financial management strategies. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting strategic decision-making. Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting. Prepare and present timely and accurate financial reports to senior management. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Manage the preparation of budgets and forecasts while monitoring performance against these metrics. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and drive financial performance. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred. Proven experience in financial management and accounting roles. Strong knowledge of debits and credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting. Proficiency in financial report writing and analysis using various financial software. Excellent understanding of GAAP principles and practices. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly. QuickBooks Online experience is a must. Construction experience is a plus.
