In-OfficeOverviewOur client, a highly respected and profitable international organization headquartered in The Woodlands, is seeking a Controller to join their team due to a planned retirement. With over 100 years of operational excellence, this company is a recognized leader in its industry and is known for its stability, strong culture, and exceptionally low turnover.This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who values work-life balance while still playing a meaningful role in a well-established, global business. The Controller will report directly to a technically strong CFO (CPA, public accounting background) who values accuracy, integrity, and a collaborative approach.
Position SummaryThe Controller will be responsible for overseeing the full accounting cycle and supporting financial planning activities for the organization. This individual will lead day-to-day accounting operations while also contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in the details while also partnering with leadership to drive financial insight.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage the full-cycle accounting process, including:
Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closeGeneral ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliationsEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policiesPrepare and review financial statements and supporting schedulesLead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processesPartner with the CFO and senior leadership to provide financial insights and recommendationsManage and develop a small team (AP/AR and Finance professional)Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting proceduresSupport external audit processes and coordinate with auditors as neededAssist with process improvements and system efficienciesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferredPublic accounting background required (Big 4 or reputable regional firm preferred)7+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAPExperience overseeing full-cycle accounting and financial reportingExposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisProven ability to be hands-on while leading a small teamStrong communication skills and ability to interact with senior leadership
