Job Description

Overview The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial operations of the company while serving as a strategic partner to ownership and executive leadership. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, managing cash flow, overseeing project accounting, and providing financial analysis that drives informed business decisions. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in construction accounting and understands how financial performance directly impacts project profitability. Financial Leadership Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Develop and maintain company budgets, forecasts, and financial models. Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and cash flow planning. Provide financial insights and recommendations to ownership. Construction Accounting Oversee project accounting and job cost reporting. Monitor project profitability and identify cost overruns early. Maintain accurate Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules. Review percentage-of-completion accounting and revenue recognition. Analyze labor productivity, equipment costs, subcontractor expenses, and project performance. Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial accuracy across all projects. Compliance & Controls Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations. Insurance documents and procedures. Manage annual audits, tax preparation, and external accounting relationships. Maintain and improve internal controls and financial processes. Oversee insurance reporting, bonding requirements, and financial documentation. Team Leadership Lead and mentor accounting and administrative staff. Establish accountability and process improvements throughout the accounting department. Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and reporting capabilities.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
