Position Overview:
FRDM Turf is seeking a Controller to serve as the Head of Accounting and report directly to the CFO. This role exists to deliver reviewed financials by Business Day 10 each month, institutionalize financial discipline across the organization, and eliminate execution risk inside the accounting function. The Controller will lead month-end close, AR, AP and payroll operations, inventory and COGS integrity, compliance, reporting, accounting systems, and SOP development while partnering closely with operations and market leadership. This is a high-ownership leadership role for someone who wants to build systems, improve processes, and help scale a multi-market business.
Responsibilities :
Deliver reviewed monthly financials by Business Day 10 with a fully reconciled balance sheet. Lead the full month-end close process across cash, AP, AR, payroll, inventory, fixed assets, and WIP. Oversee AP operations, vendor governance, payment scheduling, and exception handling. Maintain weekly cash-planning inputs and enforce disbursement discipline. Ensure inventory and COGS accuracy in partnership with Supply Chain and Fulfillment leadership. Maintain compliance calendars including payroll filings, sales tax, licenses, 1099s, insurance audits, and lender documentation. Build and maintain accounting SOPs across QuickBooks Online, Ramp, ServiceTitan, and internal workflows. Improve reporting accuracy, workflow visibility, and financial accountability across departments. Lead and develop the accounting team while maintaining our high-trust, high-accountability culture. Surface risks and operational issues early and partner cross-functionally with operations and market leadership.
Cross-Department Partnership:
This role works closely with: Field Operations on market budgeting, installer-related financial support, and operational forecasting; Internal Operations on collections discipline and financial data-entry quality; Supply Chain on inventory reconciliation and process compliance Sales on pricing support, commission accuracy, and budget alignment.
What Success Looks Like:
Reviewed financials delivered by Business Day 10 every month. AR, AP, inventory, payroll, and compliance operating without CFO intervention. Clean, documented SOPs adopted company-wide. Strong operational accountability across the accounting function. Accurate reporting and improved financial visibility across markets.

Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Accounting required. CPA preferred. 1-2 years at a Big 4 public accounting firm. 1-2+ years in home services, construction, or project-based industries preferred. Experience owning month-end close in a $10M
- $100M revenue environment.
Strong understanding of operational accounting and inventory-based businesses. High proficiency with accounting systems and process management.
