Job Description

The Company has an immediate opening in their Accounting Department for a full time Controller for the Club and Homeowners Association (HOA) Divisions. The position is responsible for all entity accounting functions including timely and accurate reporting, account analysis, budget to actual tracking, and reconciliations. This position requires a thorough knowledge of private club procedures, organization, and operations, as well as an understanding of the club's accounting and technology systems and software. You must be professional, organized, meticulously detailed and a team player. We are looking for someone pursuing a career for the long term. You must be reliable and able to carry out tasks both autonomously and collaboratively. The goal is to contribute to keep the accounting and financial processes of the company up to standard and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This position will report to the VP of Finance. Principal Responsibilities Support the VP of Finance & CFO in providing financial management expertise to the Club and HOA divisions as well as to the corporate financial organization Work directly with the General Manager and other key staff members to ensure timely reporting required to run their business Responsible for all general ledger accounts and oversight of the month end, quarter end and year end closing process and financing reporting Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly and annual closing Direct role in the preparation of annual budgets or monthly forecasts for all entities Assist in managing staff accountant(s) as it relates to their individual roles Oversee Club Membership reporting Utilize accounting IT system (including QuickBooks Enterprise and Jonas) and other databases to facilitate processes and maintain records Assist with external audit Additional responsibilities, duties, and projects as assigned by VP of Finance/General Manager What you will need: (competencies, behaviors & attributes) Positive Attitude Business Acumen Drive for Results Priority Setting Self-Knowledge Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Finance/Accounting preferred, or equivalent experience required. CPA Preferred or solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations Proven experience as a Controller or other similar position Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.) Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting required Ability to carry out assigned tasks timely and efficiently Experience in the Club/HOA industry is preferred but not required Understanding of data analysis and forecasting Excellent communication skills, written and verbal Must be detailed and thorough in execution of work Flexible and creative problem solver Demonstrated proficiency in Excel Benefits of Working with Red Ledges We are looking for dedicated professionals that share our values of putting the owner and their needs - first.
