General Description:
The Regional Controller is a key business partner to plant and regional operations leadership, responsible for financial integrity, operational analysis, and strategic decision support across assigned operational sites. This role leads the accounting and finance processes at assigned plants, ensuring accuracy of financial reporting while driving performance improvement initiatives that enhance profitability, efficiency, and cash flow. Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting activities at assigned sites to ensure accurate and timely financial processes, in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Ensure proper revenue and expense recognition in compliance with GAAP, accurately reflecting the timing of earnings and costs across business activities Ensure all monthly accruals are accurately recorded and supported Support the region's accounts payable, receivable, and payroll departments Manage the general ledger and journal entry postings for the region Complete and reconcile monthly site volume flows for inbound and outbound transactions Verify and reconcile site inventories Ensure accuracy and proper recording of intercompany transactions Oversee balance sheet account reconciliations Deliver accurate and timely variance analyses, identifying drivers of performance gaps and recommending corrective actions Support development and maintenance of product costing models and annual standard cost updates Review monthly operating financial results, providing variance analyses to help tell the story against budget and prior year figures Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts for assigned plants Manage and mentor regional and site accounting staff, ensuring consistency and excellence in financial processes Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the regional finance organization Operational Leadership Act as a strategic partner to the Plant General Manager(s) and operations team, translating financial data into actionable operational insights Collaborate with the operations team to develop and track metrics/reports that enhance forecasting tools Provide financial modeling and ROI analysis for capital investment projects Analyze line of business profitability and highlight opportunities for margin improvement Serve as the financial conscience of the site-challenging assumptions while supporting data-driven decision-making Participate in management meetings and actively engages as part of the site leadership team Analyze and propose regional initiatives aimed at improving financial performance Qualifications:
Strong analytical and communication skills Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and manufacturing operations Proficient with ERP systems and accounting software, preferably MAS 500 or another Sage ERP platform Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time High integrity, excellent organizational skills, and detail-oriented Strong interpersonal and communication skills Deadline-focused with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively Can-do attitude, sense of urgency, common sense and pragmatic approach Positive attitude and a strong team player Education and Experience:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5-7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or operations finance preferred Relevant supply chain experience in manufacturing, supply chain & logistics a plus Master s degree or equivalent through experience CMA is a plus EEO Statement:
