Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, and compliance within our organization. This role will play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely reporting, and driving strategic decision-making. Located in Sandy, Utah, this position offers an opportunity to collaborate across departments and contribute to the company's long-term success.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, delivering detailed reports.
- Conduct weekly reconciliations for bank accounts and credit cards to ensure financial accuracy.
- Analyze cash flow and forecast future needs to support company operations.
- Oversee full-cycle accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring proper job cost allocation.
- Track project costs, monitor progress, and identify variances between actual and budgeted expenses.
- Partner with project managers to refine cost projections and improve financial outcomes.
- Process biweekly payroll and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and insurance policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Implement and optimize accounting software and workflows to enhance operational efficiency. Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
- Proficiency in accounts payable, job costing, and cost accounting.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules.
- Expertise in managing general ledger and financial reporting processes.
- Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and tax compliance.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and software tools.
