Controller

Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, and compliance within our organization. This role will play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely reporting, and driving strategic decision-making. Located in Sandy, Utah, this position offers an opportunity to collaborate across departments and contribute to the company's long-term success.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, delivering detailed reports.
• Conduct weekly reconciliations for bank accounts and credit cards to ensure financial accuracy.
• Analyze cash flow and forecast future needs to support company operations.
• Oversee full-cycle accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring proper job cost allocation.
• Track project costs, monitor progress, and identify variances between actual and budgeted expenses.
• Partner with project managers to refine cost projections and improve financial outcomes.
• Process biweekly payroll and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations.
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and insurance policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
• Implement and optimize accounting software and workflows to enhance operational efficiency. Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
• Proficiency in accounts payable, job costing, and cost accounting.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules.
• Expertise in managing general ledger and financial reporting processes.
• Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Familiarity with payroll processing and tax compliance.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and software tools.
