Job Description:

Controller A private equity-backed professional services company is seeking a hands-on, high-performing Controller to lead core accounting operations and support an aggressive growth strategy through acquisitions and geographic expansion. Reporting directly to the Company CEO, this is a highly visible role with heavy exposure to the wider private equity stakeholders as well. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, experience scaling organizations through M&A activity, and the ability to operate both strategically and tactically. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day accounting + Finance operations and manage a team of 4 direct reports Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Manage multi-entity and multi-state consolidations Support acquisition integration efforts, including systems, processes, and financial reporting Partner with executive leadership and PE sponsors on financial reporting and operational initiatives Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls Drive process improvements and scalability across the accounting function Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and audit coordination Maintain and optimize ERP/accounting systems, currently utilizing NetSuite Qualifications Required Experience CPA required Experience in private equity-backed environments Strong multi-state accounting experience M&A integration experience Consolidation experience across multiple entities/business units Preferred Background Experience operating in high-growth, fast-paced environments Former military background is a plus Proven ability to be both strategic and hands-on Experience within professional services or other billable-hours-based businesses strongly preferred Public accounting foundation strongly preferred What Makes This Opportunity Attractive Opportunity to work closely with a collaborative boutique private equity firm Exposure to ongoing acquisition activity and integration work High-impact role with significant visibility to leadership Growth-oriented environment with continued expansion plans Entrepreneurial culture that values high performers and strong execution
