Assistant Controller

The Controller role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the company while supporting leadership with accurate financial reporting and analysis. This position will play a key role in helping Exact continue to grow by ensuring financial accuracy, improving processes, and providing visibility into the company's financial performance. The responsibilities of this role include: Manage the monthly financial close process and preparation of financial statements Review and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activity Verify bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations Review employee expense reporting and company credit card activity Manage cash flow and cash forecasting Review certified payroll reporting and compliance requirements Oversee state and local tax reporting requirements Manage bonus calculations and related reporting Review project advances and advance reconciliations Develop financial reporting and analysis for leadership Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities Analyze job costing, project profitability, and post-mortem project financial reviews Identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes Experience supervising accounting personnel Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and leadership skills

Preferred Experience:

Construction, stormwater, environmental services, or project-based accounting experience Experience managing payroll and certified payroll processes Why Exact Stormwater Management?
